ARTIST
Thoughts on Art
In an interview some decades ago and artist was asked how he managed to interpret a particular scene that he had painted and how he managed to get the effects and the wonderful interpretation he had put on the scene. I believe the interviewer was expecting a wonderful and long intellectual account of the psychology and feelings involved.
The response he actually gave was along the lines, "Well, I chose this point as my viewpoint, and then I painted what I saw as I saw it."
One could discern the interviewer's disappointment. I myself would not attempt to be any more 'intellection' than the artist being interviewed.
